FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., March 9, 2026 — Performance Golf today announced PG1, an AI-driven platform designed to help everyday golfers identify and prioritize their swing improvements based on body type, learning patterns, and available practice time.
The golf training and equipment company, founded by former Division I golfer Brixton Albert, is built on the belief that the problem most golfers face isn’t a lack of talent or information, but rather a mix of conflicting tips, random drills, and too many options that leave players confused and stuck. PG1 is a connected system that replaces guesswork with a clear, personalized path.
Data from the National Golf Foundation suggests that more than 48 million Americans played golf on traditional courses or at off-course venues in 2025, up 55% over the past decade. The NGF also estimates that over 50 million Americans consume golf-related content on social media, from Instagram to YouTube. Golfers are increasingly turning to apps for scorekeeping, GPS, and stat tracking, with over 75% using at least one golf app on their phone, according to consumer surveys cited by the NGF. Yet access to information has not been matched by tools that translate data and instruction into a structured improvement process.
“Other fields have embraced personalization at scale, but golf instruction has not yet incorporated that kind of adaptive decision sequencing for everyday players,” said Brixton Albert, founder and CEO of Performance Golf. “By analyzing an individual’s swing and profile, PG1 identifies the root issue and organizes improvement in a clear, step-by-step sequence. The goal is to help golfers get better and love their game.”
PG1 connects each player’s body, swing, goals, and available time to a single, adaptive plan. It identifies the root swing flaw that, once fixed, makes other improvements fall into place. It then sequences drills and feedback around the root swing flaw. An integrated AI system guides players step-by-step and tracks progress. Players can share insights with their own PG-Certified coach, bridging the gap between everyday golfers and the kind of structured guidance typically reserved for tour players.
Developing PG1 required a $3 million investment in AI architecture, coaching integration, and iterative testing. “Our investment reflects the complexity involved in building a system that can diagnose movement patterns, sequence skill development, and adapt to individual golfers over time,” said John Hardesty, chief marketing officer at Performance Golf.
Alongside PG1, the company introduced the ONE.1 Wedge, designed to address one of the most common short game issues among everyday golfers — inconsistent turf contact from real-world lies. The club features patented ONE Wedge Technology™ with an Auto Glide Sole that glides through fairway, rough, sand, and tight lies instead of digging. By managing ground interaction, the ONE.1 delivers cleaner contact from real-world lies and more predictable short-game outcomes.
“For 30 years, I’ve watched golfers struggle with wedges. That’s not due to a lack of skill. That’s because traditional designs are unforgiving on imperfect contact. Golf is hard. Even the pros aren’t perfect,” said Chris McGinley, chief product officer at Performance Golf. “With the ONE.1, we wanted to engineer a design that manages ground interaction effectively. By creating a wedge that glides instead of digs, we aim to help players achieve more consistent short-game results across varied lies.”
PG1 and the ONE.1 Wedge extend Performance Golf’s mission of giving everyday golfers a clear, personalized path and equipment that widens the margin for error — so improvement is real, lasting, and within reach.
PG1 is available on March 9 via performancegolf.com. The ONE.1 Wedge is available now at performancegolf.com for $149 for members and $199 for non-members.
